18-year-old in serious condition after shooting in Anderson
ANDERSON, Ind. — An investigation is underway after an 18-year-old male was shot and seriously injured in Anderson Tuesday evening.
Officers with the Anderson Police Department were called to the 1600 block of E. 38th Street after receiving reports from a caller who reported they were transporting their friend who had just been involved in a shooting.
Officers met the victim at the hospital while others traveled to the original scene of the shooting on E. 38th Street.
APD said preliminary information indicates the victim was traveling westbound on 38th Street when another vehicle approached and opened fire, spraying multiple bullets into his car. The victim was sitting in the front passenger seat.
The victim was transported to a hospital in Indianapolis and was last reported to be in “serious” condition, according to APD.
