5 injured in overnight shootings
INDIANAPOLIS – Police are investigating after five people were injured in various overnight shootings across Indianapolis.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just before 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the 3500 block of Clifton Street on Indy’s near northwest side. When officers arrived, they located a male with a gunshot wound. He was reported to be in stable condition, according to police.
An hour later, officers were called to the 9800 block of East 21st Street on Indy’s east side. Police say they located a man with a gunshot wound. He was reported to be in stable condition, according to police.
Then, just before 3:30 a.m., officers were called to the 4500 block of Jamestown Court on Indy’s northeast side. Officers located a male with a gunshot wound. He was reported to be “awake and breathing,” according to police.
30 minutes later, officers responded to the 3400 block of North Illinois Street on Indy’s near north side. Officers located a female with a gunshot wound. She was reported to be in stable condition, according to police.
Following that, just after 5 a.m., officers responded to Community Hospital North on the report of a walk-in person shot. Officers say that person was reported to be “awake and breathing.”
All incidents are under investigation.
