6 houses burned, 1 firefighter injured in series of overnight fires around Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS — A total of six homes have burned in a series of overnight fires in Indianapolis early Monday morning.
Officers were first dispatched to the 400 block of N Hamilton Ave on a report of a fire at approximately 12:54 a.m.
Upon arrival, fire crews found three vacant houses engulfed in flames.
Later that morning the Indianapolis Fire Department was dispatched to the 2000 block of N College Ave. on a report of a fire around 3:48 a.m.
According to the IFD, one home partially collapsed and two other homes were impacted.
Firefighters found two of the homes to be vacant. The third house has remained unclaimed and firefighters are unsure if it is vacant or not.
A responding firefighter was “slightly” injured on the scene.
