INDIANAPOLIS — A man was shot and killed in downtown Indy Friday night.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched around 10:17 p.m. to “Hotel Indy” in the 100 block of East Washington Street after receiving reports that a person had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers located a man in the lobby of the hotel suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, but later died from his injuries.
Police believe the shooting originally took place at the IndyGo Bus Station down the street from the hotel. They say the man fled the scene and eventually made his way to the hotel lobby where police found him.
