Two arrested after IMPD officer and suspect exchange gunfire

INDIANAPOLIS – Two suspects were arrested after an officer-involved shooting turned into a police chase in downtown Indianapolis early Saturday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just before 3:30 a.m., officers heard gunfire near the intersection of East Georgia Street and South Meridian Street, just south of Monument Circle.
When officers arrived, they located two individuals when gunfire was exchanged with at least one of them.
Police say the suspects then fled in a vehicle and led police on a short chase before getting caught and arrested.
No other information was released.
