IMPD: 4 people shot, 1 dead on near NW side
INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a fight between two parties ended with four people being shot and one person dying on the city’s near northwest side.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 2800 block of Questend Drive South at approximately 9:20 p.m. on report of a disturbance. This is a neighborhood near Lafayette Road and Kessler Boulevard.
Police said the incident began as a fight between two separate parties that turned into gunfire. Children were presented during the shooting, according to police.
A woman was among the victims. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but died from her injuries.
Three other people, identified as men, were also shot and injured in the incident. They are all in stable condition.
IMPD asks citizens to avoid the area where the shooting occurred.
One suspect is in custody, IMPD said.
At this time, no further information has been released. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
