2 teens arrested after police seize guns in Lafayette
LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Police in Lafayette arrested a pair of teenagers and confiscated several guns as part of an ongoing investigation.
According to the Lafayette Police Department, the Violent Crimes Unit and personnel from the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on July 3.
The operation resulted in the arrest of two juvenile males ages 16 and 17. Police seized multiple firearms, including one that had been reported stolen, as well as “various controlled substances.”
The 16-year-old suspect faces preliminary charges of criminal recklessness with a firearm, dangerous possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm and dealing in a controlled substance.
The 17-year-old suspect was arrested on preliminary charges of criminal recklessness with a firearm, dangerous possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
The case remains under investigation.
