2 killed, 1 other injured in shooting on near northwest side of Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS — Two people were killed and one other was injured in a shooting on the near northwest side of Indianapolis Sunday night.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of West 27th Street around 8 p.m. to investigate a shooting. When police arrived at the scene, they located three males with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

One of the males was pronounced dead the scene, and another died after being transported to a local hospital. The third victim was also transported to a local hospital to have the injuries he sustained in the shooting treated.
IMPD has confirmed that its officers detained a person of interest during their investigation of the shooting. Police have not specified the exact ages of the person of interest and victims involved in the shooting.
Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from a disturbance that began inside a residence. At some point during the disturbance, shots were fired and the three victims were wounded.
The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency and the Marion County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene to assist IMPD with its investigation.
As of 9:26 p.m. Sunday, IMPD had not publicly released the names of the person of interest or victims implicated in the shooting. Detectives believe they have accounted for all parties that were involved in the shooting.
“Certainly disturbing, you’ve heard us speak about it tons of times, talking about conflict resolution,” IMPD’s William Young said during a media briefing at the shooting scene. “Folks have got to understand how to resolve that without picking up a firearm or a knife for whatever reason. Separate each other, do whatever you can to not have it result into this.”
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
