Back to sun and seasonal; eyeing weekend warmth
Skies are clear and temperatures have tumbled in the overnight. It is a cold start, as our current readings hold in the lower 20s, with wind chills in the teens. Winds will continue to lay down through the morning and into the afternoon. Expect a bright start and sunshine to hold all day! Sunrise at 7:19 a.m. for the last day of the month.
This afternoon will bring a steady rise in temperatures, back into the middle 40s, which is seasonal for late February. Winds will flow from the south, southwest at 5-10 mph…much calmer than Wednesday’s strong gusts.
Friday will bring a return to cloudy skies and spotty showers by the early afternoon. Very limited in coverage but with the thicker clouds, temperatures will be slow to warm, marking a cool day for the state.
This weekend will bring a return to sunshine and dryness, along with a boost in our afternoon temperatures both days. Increasing sunshine on Saturday should bring us back to 60° warmth by late afternoon. Sunday brings a steady breeze that may have a few stronger gusts, as temperatures jump nicely back to 70° to end the weekend!
