Bloomington man robbed while sitting in bed on his phone
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A Bloomington man was resting in bed with a phone in hand, when a Gosport man broke into his home with a gun pointed directly at him and demanding cash.
Shawn Hackney, 40, was charged with the following:
- Burglary, a Level 2 Felony
- Robbery, a Level 3 Felony
- Intimidation, a Level 5 Felony

The Bloomington Police Department was dispatched on March 24 at 5:03 p.m. on a report of a robbery.
According to court documents, Hackney broke into a mans apartment with an assault style rifle and a blade knife demanding money, phones, and guns.
In summation, the suspect left the home with the following items:

Hackney was later questioned by police where he reportedly admitted to the crime. He said he thought that no one would be at the home.
He was transported to the Monroe County Correctional Center for burglary, intimidation, and robbery.
