Danielle Wiggins shares update after breast cancer diagnosis
“The kindness my family and I have received has enabled us to find a reason to smile in these challenging times.”
CLEVELAND — “I want to experience all the life I can… the beauty of growing old with the man of my youth… the gift of watching our children grow up… the blessing of being around to holding our grandchildren….and the opportunity to be a light to as many people as possible.”
That’s part of the message shared by 3News’ Danielle Wiggins as she provided an update on social media Tuesday night after undergoing a procedure following her breast cancer diagnosis.

Her message was also filled with gratitude for all the support.
“I want to first thank you for all your prayers, love, kind words, flowers, gifts, cards, food and support since I announced my breast cancer diagnosis,” Wiggins wrote. “The kindness my family and I have received has allowed us to find a reason to smile in these challenging times. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Last month, Wiggins discussed the news of her diagnosis, which was discovered after she noticed something during a self-examination.

Here’s the full update from Danielle herself:
Hello all from my family and me.
First of all, I want to thank you for all your prayers, love, kind words, flowers, gifts, cards, food and support since I announced my breast cancer diagnosis. The kindness my family and I have received has allowed us to find a reason to smile in these challenging times. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I have good news! My surgery went well! My medical team at the Cleveland Clinic was able to remove the known cancer through surgery. I was recently told that the cancer had been detected at an early stage. (That breast self-exam I told you about in the story shared on WKYC Channel 3 – Cleveland and not delaying my first mammogram screening was key to early detection.)
However, I am not out of the woods yet. While I am healing physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, my struggle also focuses on preventive treatments to reduce the chances of this cancer returning. I’ll spare you all the details, but know that I intend to do everything in my power to be on this side of heaven as long as the good Lord allows.
I want all the life I can experience… the beauty of growing old with the man of my youth… the gift of watching our children grow up… the blessing of being around to fasten our grandchildren to keep… and the opportunity to be a light to as many people as possible.
Friends, to be honest, this journey is not fun, but it is full of so many lessons that I hope to share with you one day. I will leave you with what this journey consistently teaches me… you don’t have to go through hard times and suffering alone. Choose to let love in.
Hello all from my family and me. 👋🏾 First of all I want to thank you for all your prayers, love, kind words,…
