Duo arrested for 11 armed robberies in Indianapolis, Speedway
INDIANAPOLIS – A pair of men are in federal custody after reportedly robbing 11 stores with a firearm in Indianapolis and Speedway.
Donta Allen, 26, and Lance McGee, 32, have been indicted by a federal grand jury, each with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery, 11 counts of interference with commerce by robbery, 11 counts of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, and one count each of possession of firearms by a convicted felon.
According to the Department of Justice, from March 25, 2022, to April 8, 2022, the pair worked together to rob at least eleven different stores in Indianapolis and Speedway.
Reportedly, Allen would disguise his appearance with a ski mask and attempt to cover his tattoos with make-up, enter the store, point a firearm at the cashier, and demand cash. McGee served as the getaway driver in a Chevy Malibu.
The series of robberies took place on the following dates and locations:
- March 25, 2022: Disc Replay on 8210 Rockville Rd. in Indianapolis
- March 25, 2022: GameStop on 5816 Crawfordsville Rd. in Speedway
- March 27, 2022: GameStop on 3269 West 86th St. in Indianapolis
- March 27, 2022: AutoZone on 4606 East County Line Rd. in Indianapolis
- April 2, 2022: GameStop on 4525 Lafayette Rd. in Indianapolis
- April 2, 2022: AutoZone on 7455 Michigan Rd. in Indianapolis
- April 3, 2022: Disc Replay on 9739 East Washington St. in Indianapolis
- April 5, 2022: Disc Replay on 7317 US 31 South in Indianapolis
- April 5, 2022: AutoZone on 8525 Southeastern Ave. in Indianapolis
- April 5, 2022: AutoZone on 6055 East 82nd St. in Indianapolis
- April 8, 2022: Gamestop on 6905 South Emerson Ave. in Indianapolis
During the alleged offenses, both individuals had previous felony convictions that prohibited them from ever legally possessing a firearm.
Allen and McGee both face up to life in prison.
