Fire truck overturned on east side, at least 4 injured

UPDATE 3:32 p.m.: Indianapolis Fire Department have confirmed that this incident is not related to the crash on 30th and Mass. They also provided more information on the crash, stating that Engine 43 attempted to maneuver around a “wide load” Tactical Truck. IFD said the fire truck succeeded in the maneuver, but the Tactical Truck was not, which resulted in the fire truck flipping. No other vehicles were involved, they reported.

All four firefighters within Engine 43 sustained some injury ranging from minor to serious, but none of them are life-threatening. They are currently undergoing treatment at area hospitals.

INDIANAPOLIS — A crash on the east side of Indianapolis Saturday morning left a fire truck overturned and injured at least four firefighters, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.

Officers were called around 11:18 a.m. to the intersection of E 30th St and N Hawthorne Ln on the report of a crash. Upon arrival, they found a fire truck overturned.

As of this article’s publication, the conditions of the firefighters are unknown.
