Fishers Event Center to unveil basketball court with Mudsock rivalry games

FISHERS, Ind. — Since it first opened in mid-November, the Fishers Event Center has hosted multiple events, including Turnpike Troubadours, Lindsey Stirling and Nitro Circus.

Later this month, the venue will expand its offerings by hosting rivalry basketball games between two high schools.

The Fishers Event Center will soon unveil its new basketball court, which will feature the Mudsock Rivalry basketball games between the Fishers High School Tigers and the Hamilton Southeastern Royals. The games will occur on Dec. 20 with the girls game at 6 p.m. and the boys game at 8 p.m.

According to a news release from the center, the rivalry games between the two schools have been played since the 2006-2007 school year. Currently, the HSE Boys lead the series 10-7 and the HSE Girls lead 11-6.

“The Mudsock Rivalry Basketball Game will inaugurate the court as a permanent fixture at Fishers Event Center, marking its fourth use overall,” the release said. “This provides Hamilton County high schoolers with the opportunity to compete on a floor that celebrates the legacy of Indiana basketball greatness.”

The court was previously used at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit at multiple NCAA games, including Purdue’s victories over Gonzaga and Tennessee, according to the release.
