INDIANAPOLIS — Former Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Myles Rice has committed to Indiana University.
The standout men’s basketball player averaged 14.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game last season as a redshirt freshman.
According to his WSU profile, Rice redshirted in 2021-22. He then took a medical redshirt in 2022-23 to receive treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Rice competed in 35 games with the Cougars last year, earning seven Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors along the way. The South Carolina native was also named to the All-Pac-12 First Team, according to a press release.
Rice led Washington State to an NCAA Tournament berth last year. The seventh-seeded Cougars beat the 10th-seeded Drake Bulldogs in the first round and fell to the second-seeded Iowa State Cyclones in the second.
Rice confirmed his commitment to IU in an Instagram post on Saturday.
The Hoosiers did not make the NCAA Tournament last year, posting 19-14 overall and 10-10 conference records. The Cougars went 25-10 overall and 14-6 in Pac-12 play in 2023-24.
