Officers were dispatched on Wednesday at approximately 10:11 p.m. to the 600 block of E Washington St. on a report of a domestic situation. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim and immediately observed the bruising on her neck and face. The victim claimed that the suspect was drinking. Hernandez fled the scene, prior to officers arrival.
According to the Frankfort Police Department, Hernandez attacked a woman with scissors, eyeliner, nail clippers, and deodorant. He allegedly sprayed the deodorant and placed a lighter to it, which caused flames. He also reportedly punched her in the face, stabbed her with the eyeliner, and scratched her with the sharp side of nail clippers and said, “yea, I’m going to kill you.”
Further, he raised the scissors above her head but she was able to grab them and throw them off to the side. He also allegedly pushed her and placed his hands over her neck and nose with pressure to the point where she could barely breathe.
Authorities, along with a K9 officer, began to search for the suspect through footprints in the snow. Hernandez was located a short time late at a residence on E Ohio St. where he barricaded himself inside. After negotiating with officers, he exited a room in the home and was arrested.
Officials also found an open case of beer on the floor.
This is an active investigation. Information will be updated as it becomes available.
