INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Fever earned their 15th win of the season during a crucial stretch for their playoff push—and a pair of Olympic gold medalists were there.
Gymnast Simone Biles and sprinter Gabby Thomas attended Wednesday night’s game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The game drew more than 17,000 fans.
“EVERYONE WATCHES WOMEN’S SPORTS… so happy to be able to go support! My first of many WNBA games,” Biles wrote on social media.
Thomas also posted about the Fever game.
“First WNBA game of many! Had so much fun supporting these stars!” Thomas wrote.
The Fever posted photos of the gold medalists with several Fever players, including Caitlin Clark, NaLyssa Smith, Aliyah Boston and Temi Fagbenle.
The Olympians weren’t the only notable fans in attendance at Gainbridge—former late night host David Letterman and Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson were also there.
The Fever put on a show, defeating the Connecticut Sun for the first time since July 2021. Clark set a WNBA rookie record by downing her 86th three-pointer of the season in the 84-80 win.
Indiana (15-16) is rolling, having won four of five games since the monthlong Olympic break. The team announced it has welcomed more than 500,000 fans to home and road games this season, a WNBA record.
They’ll hit the road Friday for their next game against the Chicago Sky.
