Idaho Falls Community Hospital opens new pediatric clinic
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – Idaho Falls Community Hospital has partnered with Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital to establish a brand new pediatric specialty clinic. They hope to adapt this clinic to outpatient care for children.
They hope this will help cover the growing need for pediatrics in the area. Currently, most families had to travel south to Utah or elsewhere to have their children with these services.
“Research has shown that if people can get healthcare closer to home, they not only have better outcomes, but they also feel better.” says Glen Beeby of Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital. “You know, traveling can be very demanding, especially when you need to get that special care. So the fact that people can get that special care closer to home means hopefully we’ll have better outcomes and happier patients.”
The clinic has six new patient rooms. Each room has its own unique mural that children feel more comfortable in. Each mural also features the clinic’s mascot, a raccoon.
The clinic will be officially opened next Monday, April 4. They will be able to provide cardiology services specifically for children.
They hope to expand their services by the end of the year. Additional services coming soon include orthopedics, urology, and some same-day surgeries.
