IMPD: 1 dead after being hit by vehicle on near northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS — A 73-year-old man died after he was reportedly hit by a vehicle on the near northwest side of Indianapolis earlier this month.

According to a news release from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 2500 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. at around 4:14 p.m. on Nov. 15 on a report of a pedestrian struck.

When officers arrived, the man who was hit, later identified by the Marion County Coroner’s Office as 73-year-old Theodore Taylor, was awake and breathing. Taylor was transported to a local hospital.

The next day, officials with the department said that Taylor was pronounced dead.
