IMPD: 1 injured after reported road rage shooting in west Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS — Officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said an apparent road rage incident on the west side of Indianapolis led to a shooting Sunday evening.
According to officials in the department, officers responded to the 6400 block of W 11th Street Sunday evening on a report of a person shot. IMPD said that the person was reportedly shot on I-465 in an apparent road rage incident.
When officers arrived, they located a person with gunshot wounds who IMPD said was “awake and breathing.”
Officials with the Indiana State Police are investigating this shooting. According to officials, there were reports of shots fired on the interstate between two parties.
After the initial shooting, a vehicle ended up at a gas station on W. 10th St. just west of I-465. Officials said that one person was sent to the hospital with a gunshot wound.
