IMPD arrests man in connection to weekend shooting
INDIANAPOLIS — Indy metro police arrested a 33-year-old man after a victim showed up to the hospital on Saturday with a gunshot wound.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the victim arrived at St. Francis Hospital on Emerson Avenue at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday and was admitted into the emergency room with gunshot wounds.
Investigators learned the shooting occurred in the 3500 block of Madison Avenue and used surveillance footage to identify a suspect — 33-year-old Felipe Maguellal.
Police took Maguellal into custody on Monday in the 400 block of E. Morris Street. He faces numerous preliminary charges including battery with injury, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and intimidation of a deadly weapon.
Final charges will be decided by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
