IMPD: Boy critically shot on east side

INDIANAPOLIS — A boy was critically shot on Indianapolis’s east side Friday afternoon, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department announced.

According to IMPD, officers were called around 12:53 p.m. to the 5200 block of E 21st St. Upon arrival, police said they found a juvenile male victim with injuries consistent with at least one gunshot wound. That victim has since been transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

IMPD did not specify the conditions that led up to the shooting, nor did they name a suspect.
