INDIANAPOLIS — A 20-year-old Indianapolis man was arrested earlier this month during a traffic stop, leading police to find several pounds of marijuana at his home.
According to a post on the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s social media, Keenan Treadwell was arrested on Sept. 7 on preliminary charges of dealing in a controlled substance, dealing marijuana and unlawful carrying of a handgun.
On Sept. 7, detectives reportedly located Treadwell during a traffic stop and found evidence that “suspected him of actively selling narcotics.” The post alleges that Treadwell was also in possession of a firearm during the traffic stop, which he was reportedly not allowed to have.
A search warrant was obtained for Treadwell’s home. The post said later that day, detectives located more than five pounds of suspected marijuana, more than eight pounds of suspected synthetic marijuana and 14 grams of suspected mushrooms.
A second firearm was also reportedly located in the house, along with various items of narcotic paraphernalia and more than $2,000 in cash.
Officials said in the post that the firearms, along with the narcotics and cash, were seized as evidence. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decisions related to Treadwell.
