IMPD investigates shootings that left 3 adults injured on northwest side, may be connected
INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis metro police are investigating after three people were shot within 20 minutes at two apartment complexes on the city’s northwest side Thursday night.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched around 8:37 p.m. to the 3900 block of Wind Drift Drive E., the listed address for Lakeside Crossing at Eagle Creek apartments, after receiving reports that a person was shot in the area.
IMPD said officers arrived at the scene and found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims was last reported to be in stable condition while the other was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, according to IMPD.
Police also came into contact with several crashed vehicles at the scene and are actively working to determine who owns these vehicles and what role they played in the incident.
IMPD confirmed the two victims were adults. However, officers were unable to verify their genders as of this article’s publication.
Around 20 minutes later, officers were also called to the 4400 block of Moller Road, the listed address for Colonial Square apartments, in response to a third shooting where officers found another individual suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, who IMPD confirmed was also an adult, was last reported to be “awake and breathing.”
There is a distance of around 3 miles between each apartment complex.
FOX59/CBS4 is currently working to determine if these two shootings are connected.
As of this article’s publication, detectives do not have any suspects in custody or a suspect description as the investigation into the circumstances of each shooting continues.
IMPD emphasized that there is no active threat to members of the public.
