IMPD investigating after cars roll into pond on northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after two vehicles rolled into a pond on the northwest side Saturday morning.

According to Indianapolis Metro Police, officers were called around 8:06 a.m. to a pond on 62nd Street and Coffman Road, on the report of a vehicle that had rolled into it.

Officers discovered two vehicles upon arrival, and preliminary information states the individuals involved know one another. They “…may have been involved in a rolling disturbance,” IMPD added.

IMPD said both vehicles were involved in a crash and then entered the pond. One vehicle remains submerged as of this article’s publication.

Police said both drivers were able to exit their vehicles and only sustained minor injuries. IMPD told FOX59/CBS4 that one driver was transported to an area hospital while the other was evaluated and released on-scene.

This is a developing story. FOX59/CBS4 will update this article once more information is made available.
