IMPD searching for missing man and child
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is looking for a missing man and child.
According to a press release, officers are asking the public to with their search for 37-year-old Leonardo Garcia-Reyes and 7-year-old Amir Garcia Escalante. The pair was last seen in the 5700 block of East 86th Street on Sunday.
Police believe Leonardo was driving a gray 2012 Dodge Ram pickup truck bearing Indiana license plate CJK453 before he and Escalante disappeared.
Police describe Escalante as a 4-foot, 60-pound, brown-haired, brown-eyed child. A description of Garcia-Reyes was not provided.
Police are encouraging those with information on Escalante and Garcia-Reyes’ whereabouts to contact the IMPD Missing Persons Unit at (317) 327-6160 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-8477.
IMPD is urging anyone who successfully locates Escalante and Garcia-Reyes to call 911.
While IMPD did not clarify many case specifics in its press release, but investigators did label the incident as a “non-custodial parent abduction.”
