ISP: Driver arrested, went 101 mph in 45 mph construction zone
INDIANAPOLIS — An officer from the Indiana State Police arrested a man on Thursday for going 56 miles per hour over the speed limit in a construction zone.
According to a Facebook post from John Perrine of the ISP Indianapolis District, an ISP trooper was driving through the I-465 work zone on the northeast side of Indianapolis. There, a driver passed the trooper at 82 mph.
That trooper said the vehicle then accelerated to 101 mph in a 45 mph construction zone. The driver, a 53-year-old man, immediately pulled over when the trooper turned on his lights.
Per ISP, the man was arrested and his vehicle was impounded. Specific charges and the suspect’s name were not listed.
