Man arrested for 3.5 lbs. of cocaine, dealing
HENRY COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana State Police arrested a Missouri man on Wednesday for the possession of about three and a half pounds of cocaine and the dealing of the drug in Henry County.
According to ISP, 34-year-old Jonathan Andrew Diggins of Raytown, Missouri was stopped for a traffic violation by an ISP officer near the 115-mile marker of Interstate 70 near the town of Knightstown. After conducting a traffic stop, the officer recognized signs of criminal activity and requested K9 assistance. The K9 then alerted police to the presence of cocaine, ISP said.
ISP officers searched Diggins’s vehicle and found about three and a half pounds of cocaine, as well as a Glock .40 caliber handgun.
ISP said Diggins was arrested and taken to the Henry County Jail. He faces two preliminary charges of:
- Dealing in cocaine, a Level 2 Felony (with enhancement)
- Possession of cocaine, a Level 3 Felony.
If convicted, Diggins could face 10 to 30 years behind bars.
