Man assaulted wife w/ sex toy after alleged affair
ANDERSON, Ind. – An Anderson man was arrested on rape and sexual battery charges after he reportedly assaulted a woman.
On Jan. 28, officers were called to the 3010 block of Sherman about a possible sex offense. The victim had fled from the residence and initially refused to come outside.
The suspect later identified as 27-year-old Alexander Ryan Jones had initially fled but was found by a K9 and taken into custody.
Court documents said officers were later able to interview the victim of the alleged assault. She stated that she was married to Jones and that they both have lived together since November 2023.
The woman added that she had a daughter sleeping in her bedroom during the incident.
Police said the woman claimed that Jones had found proof of an alleged affair and got angry with her.
That’s when Jones was alleged to have assaulted the woman, including slamming her head. The woman said Jones also reportedly had about 12 beers that night.
Jones reportedly wanted to see his wife’s journal to find more information about the cheating and was not allowing her to leave the room.
The woman said she was trying to calm Jones down but he at some point pulled her hair, knocking her to the ground. Jones then proceeded to kick and strike her in the thigh resulting in pain and visible injury to the areas. The woman added her mouth began bleeding during the struggle.
Jones was also alleged to threaten the woman that if she were going to act like a (explicit) then she would be raped like a (explicit).
Investigators said Jones then used a sex toy to perform sexual acts for nearly one minute after forcing the woman to strip clothes.
After the alleged assault, the woman ran into a neighbor’s home while they called 9-1-1.
When police arrived, they processed the scene for evidence of the assault. During a later interview, Jones admitted to honesty issues in his relationship, his wife admitted to cheating on him and that the two were yelling during the altercation.
He denied any physical contact or sexual contact but claimed his wife hadn’t taken her “bi-polar medicines.” Jones eventually asked to speak with an attorney.
Jones was preliminarily charged with felony counts of:
- Rape (sexual assault with an object)
- Intimidation
- Domestic battery w/ prior unrelated convictions
- Domestic battery w/ child under 16 present
- Sexual battery
The Madison County Prosecutor’s Office has not filed any formal charges at this time.
