Man who allegedly possessed child pornography arrested after Indiana State Police investigation
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ind. — A Madison man has been arrested because he allegedly possessed child pornography.
According to a press release from Indiana State Police, 42-year-old Ryan K. Adams was taken into custody by Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies on Monday evening. Adams’ arrest comes almost a year after Indiana State Police first began looking into his activity in April 2023.
ISP reported that its Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force began investigating Adams after he shared child pornography images with an undercover detective.
Per a release, detectives executed a search warrant on Adams’ residence in May 2023. Officials later analyzed digital devices recovered during the search.
A warrant was officially issued for Adams’ arrest on March 22. He has been charged with five counts of possession of child pornography. Each of the charges are Level 5 Felonies.
State police indicated that Adams was arrested at his residence without incident. He was then transported to the Jefferson County Jail, where he is currently being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
ISP encourages Hoosiers to report online exploitation, solicitation and enticement-type crimes against children to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The NCMEC’s website can be accessed via the ICAC’s website.
According to state police, crimes against children can also be reported to local law enforcement agencies.
