McCORDSVILLE, Ind. — A McCordsville man is under arrest after police said he communicated with a 14-year-old girl from Flordia and exchanged nude photographs.
Syed Ayan Tirmizi, 22, is charged with more than 10 counts of possession of child pornography, most Level 6 felonies outside of two which were bumped up to a Level 5 felony for aggravating factors.
Court documents reveal that police in Florida learned on May 29, 2022, that a 15-year-old girl had been communicating with a man from Indiana through online apps. The girl had reportedly exchanged nude photographs with the man and had started communicating with him when she was 14.
Police ended up identifying Tirmizi as the man the girl was speaking to. In June of 2022, police in McCordsville spoke to Tirmizi who refused to speak on the matter without a lawyer. Police did use a warrant to seize Tirmizi’s phone, however.
Police stated that videos and images weren’t downloaded from Tirmizi’s phone until October of 2023.
Police ended up finding numerous images of child porn along with some images depicting beastality.
A warrant was issued for Tirmizi’s arrest on Dec. 22, 2023.
Jail records show that Tirmizi wasn’t arrested and taken to Hancock County Jail until Wednesday, Feb. 27.
If convicted, Tirmizi could face between one to six years on Level 5 felony, his most serious charge.
