Multiple interstate incidents slow Tuesday commute

INDIANAPOLIS – Multiple crashes on area interstates slowed traffic around central Indiana on Tuesday.

The Indiana Department of Transportation’s TrafficWise map showed three separate alerts affecting parts of I-65 and I-70.

Incidents included a crash on I-65 southbound between 82nd Street and Traders Lane on the northwest side. The right lane was closed, with traffic slow in the area.

Just north of that crash, another alert showed a second incident on I-65 southbound near 82nd Street, with the left lane closed.

Close to downtown, I-70 westbound had two lanes closed between Valley Avenue and Lewis Street near the split, according to INDOT. The scene had finally cleared just before 8 a.m.

Another incident slowed traffic on I-65 on Indy’s south side.

INDOT reported a crash on I-65 northbound between Edgewood Avenue and Thompson Road that brought traffic to a crawl in the left lane. That issue was marked cleared around 6:50 a.m.

Another crash was reported on the southwest side of I-465 eastbound between Mann Road and S. Harding Street. Traffic was reduced to one lane.
