Noblesville police arrest woman accused of shooting man during road rage incident
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — Noblesville police have arrested a woman accused of shooting and injuring a man during an apparent road rage incident this week.
Officers with the Noblesville Police Department were called Monday to the 1200 block of Brady Lane in Noblesville after receiving several calls reporting that shots were heard in the area.
Upon arrival, NPD said officers found a man who had been shot and a woman who they suspected to be the alleged shooter. Police proceeded to provide aid to the victim until emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene. The man was then transported to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released from the hospital, NPD said.
The woman, identified as Caley Gootee, was apprehended and interviewed by officers. NPD said preliminary information indicates Gootee and the victim were involved in a possible road rage incident that began near the intersection of Bolden Road and 146th Street in Noblesville before the shooting took place.
Both drivers then came to a stop on Brady Lane near the Meadows of Shelbourne housing area. It was at this point that NPD said Gootee allegedly fired at least one round at the victim, striking him in the shoulder.
Gootee was subsequently arrested and brought to the Hamilton County Jail where she received the following preliminary charges:
- Aggravated battery, a level 3 felony
- Two counts of battery using a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony
- Intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony
