Pedestrian struck, killed on Indy’s northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS – An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was struck and killed on Indy’s northeast side Saturday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, at around 5:13 a.m., officers were called to a report of a pedestrian struck near the intersection of North Shadeland Avenue & East 65th Street.

When officers arrived, they found a person unresponsive in the roadway. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the driver of the striking vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

No additional information was released. The incident remains under investigation.
