Police investigating deadly hit-and-run on Indy’s west side
INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on the west side of Indianapolis Wednesday night.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched around 9:40 p.m. to the 2300 block of S. Lynhurst Drive after receiving reports of a personal injury hit-and-run occurring in the area.
IMPD confirmed that a woman was working on the side of the road when she was struck by a vehicle. The victim was taken to the hospital where she later died.
Police are looking for a blue Toyota sedan with possible front end damage.
