Secret Service shoots Indiana man near White House
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WXIN/WTTV) — An Indiana man was shot by members of the U.S. Secret Service on Sunday, according to a release from the Secret Service.
The man, believed to be travelling from Indiana, reportedly had “an armed confrontation with law enforcement,” the Secret Service stated. After his vehicle was found parked near 17th and F Streets and the individual was located nearby, the man brandished a firearm. The Secret Service said this led to their team firing shots.
The man was transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition. The Secret Service said none of their personnel reported any injuries.
President Donald Trump was not in the White House at this time. According to reports, he was at his Mar-a-Lago home when the shooting took place.
The incident remains under investigation.
