Sen. Todd Young announces 119th Congress committee assignments

WASHINGTON D.C. — The office of U.S. Senator Todd Young, R-Ind. announced on Monday that he will serve on the Senate Intelligence Committee, as well as three other committees, in the 119th Congress.

According to a news release from Young’s office, Young will serve on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence for the first time. This committee was created in 1976 to provide legislative oversight over the intelligence activities of the United States.

This committee has 17 senators, including nine from the majority party and eight from the minority, the release said.

“As a former U.S. Marine Corps intelligence officer, I have a deep appreciation for our dedicated intelligence professionals and the importance of unbiased intelligence to our national security,” Young said in the release. “I look forward to working with my colleagues on the committee to ensure policymakers are receiving the best intelligence possible as they make critical decisions.”

The release said that Young will continue to serve on the following committees:

  • Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation
  • Senate Committee on Small Business and Entreprenuership
  • Senate Committee on Finance

“I’m honored to continue my work on these committees to tackle the issues most important to Hoosiers,” Young said, “including stimulating economic growth, reducing costs for families and ensuring America maintains global leadership in technology,”
