INDIANAPOLIS — Are you in need of a special beverage on eclipse day? Sun King Brewing has you covered.
According to the Indianapolis brewery, Sun King partnered with 12 other breweries located in the path of totality of April’s eclipse to create a signature beer. Called “3-07,” the Indianapolis beer celebrates the total time that Indianapolis is expected to have its total solar eclipse on April 8.
Officials said the beer is a golden ale infused by coffee roasted by the Sun Bean Roastery in Indianapolis.
“We’ve got this beautiful golden ale that represents the sun, and then on the dark side, we have the coffee beans in there,” Dave Colt, the co-founder and brewmaster of Sun King Brewing, said. “It’ll have this cool, roasty wonderfulness happening at the same time.”
Officials said that the beer will be on tap starting Friday, a month before eclipse day. Hoosiers will be able to find it at each of Sun King’s locations and other bars that carry Sun King’s beers.
The brewing company will also host an Indy Total Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at 11 .m. on April 8 at the brewery, located at 135 N. College Ave. According to its website, the event will be free to attend and feature various activities.
